Hello!

We are a team of teacher's, that we visited Alcala de Henares, Spain, during Erasmus+ programm "Digital Classroom". The team consists of teachers: Vicky Papanagiotou, Jim Katsigiannis, Konstantina Korkidaki, Anna Michidi and Nick Penintas. We all from Larisa, Greece. We created this blog during our practice.

Our Situation...

The city of Larissa is situated on both banks of Penaeus River and is located in the eastern plain of Thessaly and which occupied almost entirely by the prefecture of Larissa.

Walking in the City!

Larissa’s centre is developed in an extensive network of pedestrianized streets and squares. 

The Bezesteni

Bezesteni is the area that archaeologists were found the first evidence of occupation of the city from the Neolithic Period.

The ancient theatre

The ancient theatre of Larissa was built in the early of 3rd century B.C. during the reign og Antigonos Gonatas, King of Macedonia. The monument is a typical Greek theatre of Hellenistic times.

Larisa in modern times

Larissa was the headquarters of Hursid Pasha during the Greek War of Independence.  In 1881, the city, along with the rest of Thessaly, was incorporated into the Kingdom of Greece.
